2026-2027 WAG Tryouts

We invite girls born in 2018-2022 to try out for our Women’s Artistic Gymnastics competitive program for the 2026-2027 season. Tryout spots are first come, first serve. All competitive groups train at our Pickering location and programs begin in July 2026.

Tryout Details
  • Date: Saturday, May 23, 2026
  • Ages: Girls born in 2018-2022
  • Tryout times:
    • 1:00 p.m. (FULL)
    • 2:15 p.m. (FULL)
    • 3:30 p.m. (FULL)
    • Tryouts will be approximately one hour. We ask that parents/guardians remain on site for the duration of the tryout.
  • Tryout location: 1503 Sandy Beach Road, Pickering
  • Tryout cost: Free
  • Start date: Tryouts are for groups starting in July 2026.
ONLINE REGISTRATION:

Tryouts are currently full. To add a child born in 2018-2022 to a wait list for tryouts, please contact the Pickering office at pickering@aimgymnastics.ca.

Athletes born in 2017 and earlier: At this time, we are testing athlete born in 2018-2022 only. All other age groups are full for next season with athletes currently in the program. If spaces become available, we will hold additional tryouts and notify families via email and social media.

No previous experience necessary: Tryouts test a range of movements beyond gymnastics skills, including basic flexibility, strength, agility, and following instructions.

Program hours and fees: The number of hours an athlete trains and the monthly tuition fees will depend on the group they are placed into. Competitive programs start at 4 hours per week. All competitive groups train at our Pickering location and programs begin in July 2026.

Competitive program

AIM offers Women’s Artistic Gymnastics programs at various Developmental, Xcel, and Optional levels. All competitive programs run out of the Pickering location.

Current competitive families are required to review the customer handbook and fill out a new set of competitive forms every season for each athlete.

Tryouts for 2026-2027 will be held on May 23, 2026. See above for details.

Testing is required for acceptance into the competitive program and placement is at the discretion of the coaching staff.

Programs for 2025-26 are currently full. Tryouts are held in Pickering each spring, based on available spots for the upcoming season. When tryout dates are released each year, they will be available on our website, sent via email, and posted on social media.

Developmental

Ages 4-6. Entry level for our youngest athletes. Athletes will participate in 1 showcase event per season. Group trains 4 hours per week.

Ages 6-9. Working on preparing the skills required for the Xcel and Optional programs. Athletes will participate in 1 showcase event per season. Group trains 8 hours per week.

xcel

Xcel is for the athletes looking to stay in the sport, but who are not interested in following the optional technical requirements. Athletes will perform at 1-3 showcase competitions and will do optional routines with their choice of elements. Xcel gives the athletes the freedom to achieve more on certain events.

  • Xcel Gold, Silver, or Bronze levels. Athletes will compete at 2-4 competitions per season.
  • Xcel Gold athletes (ages 9-10) will compete with the goal of moving to Level 6 the following season.

Optional

Ages 9+. Group trains 16 hours per week, with additional hours possible in the summer.

  • Levels 6 and up: 3 qualifiers with the potential to qualify to Provincial Championships.
  • Level 6 and ages 14+: Option to compete at tour selection with the potential to earn a spot on the Ontario tour team.
  • Level 7 and ages 12+: Potential to be named to the Ontario team to compete at Eastern Championships.
  • Level 9+: Potential to qualify for National Championships.
