Privacy Policy

AIM Gymnastics is committed to protecting the privacy, confidentiality, accuracy and security of the personal information that it collects, uses, retains and discloses in the course of conducting business.

Recreational Classes

Our Recreational Gymnastics, Ninja, and Trampoline programs aim to introduce children of all ages to the many benefits of sports in a safe, fun, and clean environment with our safety-certified coaches.

  • 55 minutes:
    • Tall & Small (Walking-3 years)
    • Junior Gym (3-5 years)
    • Gymnastics (5-15 years)
    • Advanced 1 Gymnastics (6+ years)
    • Ninja (5-12 years)
    • Trampoline (5-15 years)
    • Tumble & Trampoline (5-15 years)
    • Adult Gymnastics (16+ years)
  • 1 hour, 55 minutes: Advanced 2 Gymnastics (6+ years)
  • Athletes should wear a gymsuit, t-shirt, shorts, track pants, or fitted leggings
  • Club t-shirts can be custom ordered through the front office
  • Bare feet are required
  • Long hair must be tied back and all jewelry removed
  • Please no belts, buckles, denim, loose strings, or any clothing that may pose a safety hazard in the athlete’s participation in class
  • All gymnasts waiting for class to begin may sit with their parents/guardians in the viewing area
  • Parents are welcome to watch classes from the parent viewing areas.
  • Please do not enter the gym area unless you are registered and participating in a Tall & Small class. It becomes very distracting and is a safety issue that we must strictly enforce.
  • You may speak with your child’s coach before or after class, or at a time that is convenient for you both. You may also leave a message for the coach at the main office.
  • Students are asked to bring water in a non-glass container for water breaks during class. We also sell bottled water in the front office.
  • While our facility offers spectators the benefits of open viewing, we ask that parents refrain from entering the gym during class times, unless registered and participating in a Tall & Small class. This can present a challenge for our coaches as they strive to capture and hold the attention of the children in their groups.
  • As parents and caregivers ourselves, we appreciate your enthusiasm and encouragement toward your children. For athletes to achieve their full potential – including, mastering a new skill, taking turns with their peers, or learning to take instruction – they need to focus on the coach. Coaching from the viewing area inhibits the coaches’ ability to hold the athletes’ attention, which can present a safety issue as well as be disruptive to the rest of the class. We appreciate your cooperation.

Monthly fees are due on the 1st of each month. Monthly payments will be withdrawn on the 1st of each month via the payment method on file. If you wish to pay by another method, the payment must be received before the 1st of each month or the payment method on file will be charged. By registering, you are agreeing to make monthly payments on the 1st of each month either via pre-authorized monthly withdrawals or via another payment method in the office before the 1st of the month. I understand and agree that if I am late with a payment, that AIM Gymnastics has the option to require pre-authorized credit card or bank account payments from that point forward.

All overdue transactions will be subject to a $20.00 late fee. All declined or unprocessed payments will be subject to a $25.00 fee. Recreational accounts that are two weeks overdue will not be considered active and students will be dropped from class(es). Accounts that become 30 days overdue will be considered for collections action. AIM Gymnastics requires seven (7) days written notice to AIM Gymnastics of any intent to discontinue.

Monthly fees are subject to change every calendar year in January. This applies to all programs.

Drop off/pick up: Students under the age of 13 may not be dropped off outside of the building. For any students picked up late, you will be subject to a $1.00/minute late fee payable directly to the child’s coach upon pick up.

We will issue a makeup class for any missed recreational class. If AIM Gymnastics cancels a class for any reason outside of a stat holiday (weather, class cancellation), we will issue two makeup classes. After a class has been missed, please contact the office to schedule a makeup. Students may participate in any class that is within the same age group and the same time length as the missed class. Makeup classes may be scheduled at any location. Please note that students must be currently enrolled to do makeup classes. Makeup classes carry no cash value, cannot be used in lieu of payment for class, and will not be refunded if they go unused.

Recreational students are welcome to transfer to a different class at anytime, providing that there is an opening in the class. We require written notice for all class change requests, either via e-mail or through a form in the front office.

To withdraw from a recreational program at AIM Gymnastics, we require 7 days written notice. Fees are due for this 7 day period. You may submit written notice by e-mail or through a form in the front office.

In the case of a recreational withdrawal, AIM Gymnastics will refund any tuition that has been pre-paid for that month, less the 7 days written notice period. This will only apply if the rest of the account is up to date and in good standing.

AIM Gymnastics does not issue refunds for: 1) Gymnastics Ontario registration fee, 2) unused makeup classes, 3) statutory holidays, or 4) classes cancelled due to weather, power outage, or other means beyond our control. In the case of stat holidays and facility closures, makeup classes will be provided.

Photographs and video may be used for promotional purposes for AIM Gymnastics, including our website, e-mails, bulletin boards, newsletters, and social media, as well as teaching tools by coaches.

COMPETITIVE PROGRAM

We offer Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) at our Pickering location.

  • Mini PreTeam: Ages 4-6. Entry level for our youngest athletes. Athletes will participate in 1 showcase event per season. Group trains 4 hours per week.
  • PreTeam: Ages 6-9. Working on preparing the skills required for the Xcel and Optional programs. Athletes will participate in 1 showcase event per season. Group trains 8 hours per week.

Xcel is for the athletes looking to stay in the sport, but who are not interested in following the optional technical requirements. Athletes will perform at 1-3 showcase competitions and will do optional routines with their choice of elements. Xcel gives the athletes the freedom to achieve more on certain events.

  • Xcel Gold, Silver, or Bronze levels. Athletes will compete at 2-4 competitions per season.
  • Xcel Gold athletes (ages 9-10) will compete with the goal of moving to Level 6 the following season.

Ages 9+. Group trains 16 hours per week, with additional hours possible in the summer.

  • Levels 6 and up: 3 qualifiers with the potential to qualify to Provincial Championships.
  • Level 6 and ages 14+: Option to compete at tour selection with the potential to earn a spot on the Ontario tour team.
  • Level 7 and ages 12+: Potential to be named to the Ontario team to compete at Eastern Championships.
  • Level 9+: Potential to qualify for National Championships.

COMPETITIONS

For any competitions or showcase events, the program coordinator will communicate any modified and/or cancelled training. Coaches reserve the right to keep athletes from competing if they are unprepared in any way and at any level.

  • Under no circumstance may a non-participant enter the competitive floor area. In extreme cases of serious injury, a parent/guardian will be invited to be present during first aid treatment.
  • Parents/guardians and athletes are not permitted to address any judging or other meet official during a competition. Any concerns, questions or comments may only come from a registered coach. Gymnastics Ontario has set standards by which coaches may address judges and meet officials. Not only can an athlete be disqualified, but the entire team may be disqualified from that and other competitions that season. All judges and officials must be treated with respect.
  • All competing athletes must remain on the competition floor during the awards ceremonies until the last award for that session is given. It is important to support your team and fellow athletes.
  • Athletes are not permitted to bring any electronics (i.e. mobile phones, iPads, etc.) on to the competition floor at any time.
  • Athletes will not be able to participate in competition if they are ill with a fever, diarrhea, or vomiting.
  • No athlete may leave the competition floor to talk with people in the viewing area until the last competitor of that session has performed. This means athletes are responsible for their grip bags, warm up clothing, etc. Failure to abide by this rule can result in athlete disqualification by the meet director or head judge.
  • While waiting for a rotation to be called, athletes may have a light snack (ie. an orange), but only if food is allowed on the floor.
  • Athletes must ask the judges at her most recent event for permission to leave the floor for a washroom break.
  • Protests are permitted only at the Provincial Artistic Qualifying Competition level and can only be initiated by a registered club coach. If and when the coach feels a protest is necessary, the coach will approach the parents of the gymnasts to pay the protest fee (usually $30). Protests are rarely successful and are usually ruled in the judge’s favour, however the outcome can rule in the gymnasts favour if it is regarding faulty apparatus or missed technical elements.

TRAINING

Regular attendance is important for competitive athletes to benefit from training sessions. This includes summer months. Families are requested to notify the club/coaches in advance if an athlete is going to miss a practice.

Drop off and pick up: The athlete must be picked up promptly when class ends. If your child is picked up late, you will be charged a late fee of $1.00 per minute, payable directly to the coach upon pick up. This also applies to early drop off. All athletes age 13 and under must be dropped off and picked up inside the gym.

The yearly training fees are prorated to include the following: Four weeks vacation for the athletes, all long weekends (all stat/civic will be off), time for team building activities, time off after competitions, and all competitions we host. Failure to attend 75% of your scheduled training may result in removal from our competitive program.

Snack breaks will be scheduled for competitive groups that train more than 3 hours at a time. Total break time is approximately 15 minutes. Athletes who train less than 3 hours will receive a 5 minute break during their practice to grab a drink and a small snack. Please ensure all food and drinks are nut-free. Athletes are welcome to use our microwaves and fridges. Please no glass containers in the gym.

If a competitive athlete misses a regularly scheduled training, a makeup class and/or refund will not be provided. In the case that a group training day is cancelled, we will schedule a makeup class for the whole group. If an athlete is unable to attend the group makeup class, an additional makeup classes and/or refund will not be provided.

All closures and the date of the makeup class will be communicated by the program coordinator via e-mail.

Group placement is carefully determined by the program coordinator, in consultation with the team, to ensure the best experience for each athlete. Further discussions about athlete placement must take place with the program coordinator.

In the case that an athlete moves to another competitive group during the season, training  hours may change, and fees may increase or decrease accordingly.

Competitive athletes are expected to be clean and neat at the gym and during competitions. Gymsuits should not be worn twice in a row without being washed. Body suits must be one piece with no skirts attached. Athlete’s hair (if long) should be tied back securely or be short in length. Bobby pins are not permitted in the gym as they fall out and are a safety concern. Bare midriffs are not permitted. Improper dress may result in the inability to participate until proper training attire is attained.

Competition Attire: All competitive athletes will be required to own a competitive uniform, which consists of a club training suit, a competitive leotard suit and a warm-up suit.  These are ordered through the club and payment for attire is required at time of order. Competition hair protocol is pulled back and out of the face.

Additional attire and fees: Depending on your athlete’s level, you may be required to purchase the following items. Please note that styles for training suits, competitive leotards, and warm up suits may change year to year, requiring new purchases.

Training, private lessons, or any other instruction at other facility is not allowed for competitive athletes.

Coaches expenses include, but are not limited to, mileage, accommodations, coaching time, and meals for competitions, training camps, workshops, etc.

The cost of all coaches’ expenses will be totaled, and equally divided amongst all participating athletes at that event. Coaches expenses will usually be invoiced to you within 2 weeks of an event. Expenses are required to be paid by the due date indicated in the invoice notice.

Time must be given before the refund is issued in order to ensure that all commitments are met and all monies owing are paid in full. If there are additional monies owed to the club beyond what the security deposit covers, the balance will be charged to the payment method on file to settle the account.

PARENT/GUARDIAN ROLE

Research indicates that parents are their children’s most important role models. With this comes incredible responsibility as it relates to a number of different situations, including a child’s sport experience. It is essential that parents, as well as coaches, teach children the meaning of fair play, mutual respect, understanding, and patience while participating in a sport. We encourage parents/guardians to focus on the FUN aspects of the sport and how it contributes to the development of their children’s self-esteem, physical, and moral development, and overall sense of accomplishment.

Gymnastics Ontario is the governing body of our sport. They, along with host clubs, have a great deal of behind the scenes work that is required to host competitions, training camps, etc. If you have any questions, please contact your coach or program coordinator first. If it is necessary, the club will then contact the appropriate person at another organization for clarification.
